The Honda Civic Hybrid is on a roll, and we don’t mean just on its four wheels. The 2025 North American Car of the Year (NACTOY), also recently was named among “Ward’s 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems.”
The Honda Civic is Honda’s most popular model, and with the fourth-generation Honda two-motor hybrid engine, it should become ever-more in demand for its quickness and its gas-sipping ability.

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, dual electric engine vehicle that puts out 200 hp, and achieves 50 City / 47 Highway / 49 Combined efficiency. And the base model still comes in at around $30k. Motor1.com called it “a love letter to hybrid cars,” that “makes the hybrid formula its own, producing a sleek, smooth-driving sedan that … laughs in the face of inflation. It’s the perfect car for our time.”
And MotorTrend said the “2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Out-Germans the Germans,” and continued, “Buy it for the great fuel economy, fall in love with it because of the enlightened driving dynamics.”
